Come home to Edgewood Congregational Church, UCC on September 8, 2019 as we celebrate our 125th anniversary!
Our special Homecoming worship service and gathering will provide a wonderful opportunity for church members past, present and future to come together in support and honor of all that Edgewood means to the community. We’ll begin at 10 a.m. with a Commemorative Worship Service led by the Reverend Nancy Soukup, with special music by Brenda Muoio and the ECC Choir. During the service we’ll have the opportunity to celebrate and reflect upon fond memories of our church’s 125-year history, while also looking forward to a revitalized future!
Join us afterward for a time of Fellowship and Reunion in Sawyer Hall, where we’ll be treated to a delicious meal courtesy of the talented cooks and bakers from our congregation. A local theatre troupe will also be on hand to share entertainment and revelry, and former member (and constant friend) Jess Watts will lend her professional baking skills to end our gathering on a sweet note.
During our Homecoming event, ECC’s thrift shop, Lydia’s Closet, will be open for a short time, and there will be other items available for sale in support of our church and missions. We’ll also be enjoying a trip down memory lane as we display old Edgewood photos and memorabilia; if you have anything to share, please feel free to bring it along!
RSVPs are encouraged — please contact the church office if you plan to attend. We are able to assist with transportation for those in need, and lodgings for those who want to travel home to ECC from out of town.
Please join us for this pivotal moment in Edgewood’s history. Our church has meant so much to the community for these 125 years, and we find ourselves at a crossroads. Our people are mighty but our numbers are small. If you have loved ECC in the past, please consider being present to help us protect its future.
