Ruthful Revelers and Wilke Wonderman Scholarships
for College/Graduate School Tuition/Expenses
The Ruthful Revelers and Wilke Wonderman Scholarships were set up by Janet Butler Lawton and her husband, Matthew Lawton.
The Ruthful Revelers Scholarship is a tribute to Janet’s mother, Ruth Butler, and friends Judy Dewey, Joyce Fowler, Barbara Brooks, and Carol Cornell. It celebrates the lifelong bond these women formed through their participation in the Edgewood Church choir, supporting each other and reveling in life together.
The Wilke Wonderman Scholarship was established in memory of Janet’s brother-in-law, the Rev. Christopher “Kit” Wilke, who served as pastor of Edgewood Church from October 1, 1978 to January 1, 1991. Rev. Kit had a generous spirit and a compassionate heart. Throughout his life, he fought passionately for human rights.
The Ruthful Revelers and Wilke Wonderman Scholarships are awarded annually. They are available to anyone who has a connection to Edgewood Congregational Church and is pursuing higher education. For further information, please contact the church office.
